Overview
The Coffeescribe library is where all public scribes are discoverable. Browse scribes by other creators, share your own, and find inspiration for your next project.
Browsing the Library
Search
Use the search bar to find scribes by title, topic, or description. Search is instant with results updating as you type.
Filters
Narrow down results with multiple filters:

| Imports | Scribes created via the Upload your own flow (see Importing your own books). Imports default to newest-first so a fresh upload appears at the top — handy when you've just finished an import and want to find it. |
Scribe Cards
Each scribe in the library shows:
- Title and author
- Description preview
- Creation mode badge (Cold Brew/Americano)
- Content type badge (Book, Article, Guide, etc.)
- Creator tier badge
- AI model used
- Language and reading level
- Word count and estimated reading time
- Quality Score (0-100) — a system-calculated score based on how the scribe was created (see below)
- User Rating — average star rating from readers
- Favourites count
Sharing Your Scribes
Making a Scribe Public
Pro and Creator tier users can make scribes public or private:
- Open your scribe
- Toggle the public/private setting
- Public scribes appear in the library immediately
Free tier note: All scribes created on the Free tier are automatically public.
What Others Can Do With Your Public Scribes
- Read them in the Coffeescribe reader
- Create Espresso (Quick Read) summaries
- Favourite and rate them
- Report inappropriate content
Favourites
Click the heart icon on any scribe to add it to your favourites. Access your favourites from the library filter.
Quality Score vs User Rating
Coffeescribe shows two separate scores for public scribes:
Quality Score (0-100)
A system-calculated score based on how the scribe was created. It reflects creation quality signals, not reader opinion. The score is based on:

| Web search enabled | 15% | Whether web research was used during generation |
| Model research ability | 10% | How well the model uses search results (only if search was on) |
| Generation mode | 20% | Slower, more careful modes (Pour Over) score higher |
| Verified content | 15% | Proportion of sections fact-checked with Verify Validity |
| Freshness | 10% | Newer scribes score slightly higher |
| Custom instructions | 5% | Whether the creator provided custom instructions |
Quality score is calculated automatically when a scribe is created (for Americano/Espresso) or when it's first published (for Cold Brew/Empty Mug). It's recalculated when sections are verified.
User Rating (stars)
Star ratings submitted by readers. Any signed-in user can rate a public scribe they don't own. User ratings are independent of the quality score.
Both scores feed into the Recommended sort in the library, which blends quality score, user rating, and recency to surface the best content.
Your Personal Library
Switch to My Scribes in the library filter to see all scribes you've created, both public and private. This includes:
- Scribes in progress (being generated)
- Completed scribes
- Espresso scribes you've created
