Americano (Full Scribe)

Overview

Americano is the fastest way to generate a full scribe on Coffeescribe. Enter a topic, click Create Scribe, and the AI handles everything — from structuring chapters to writing each section.

How It Works

The form is now a 6-card slideshow — one short step at a time, with a Review at the end. You can skip any card you're not sure about; AI can fill the blanks on Review.

1. Card 1 — Title — Give your scribe a working title (even a rough one is fine).
2. Card 2 — Topic & Purpose — Pick what kind of content this is and why you're writing it. Tile-based — click to select, or click Other… to type your own.
3. Card 3 — Audience & Reader Level — Tile controls for Reader Level, Audience, Age Range, Style, and Tone. Most fields are multi-select — click multiple tiles to combine them.
4. Card 4 — Structure — Pick a Target length tile (10 min / 20 min / 30 min / 60 min for a Quick Read, or Full scribe for a full-length book). For Full scribe in Guided Creation you'll also see Chapters and Sections tiles.
5. Card 5 — Description — Optional fields to shape the output (description, goals, pain points, unique angle, reader outcome, notes). All skippable.
6. Card 6 — Review — Every answer appears as a small card. Tap one to expand it, edit it, then tap Done to collapse. Use ✨ Let AI fill the rest to populate any fields you skipped, then click Create Scribe when you're happy.

AI shortcuts

• Sticky FAB ("AI fill everything") — purple gradient button bottom-right of every card. Tap it any time after entering a title and AI fills every blank field, taking you straight to Review.
• Per-card Skip — click Skip and the field stays blank. Hint above each card: "Skip anything you're not sure about — AI can fill the rest on Review."
• AI fill the rest (Review) — click to fill only the blanks you skipped. Edit or delete what AI suggests before generating; nothing generates silently.

Saved drafts

Your progress saves automatically as you go (locally on your device). If you close the tab and come back to /create/quick or /create/guided, you'll see a "Resume your scribe?" prompt with [Resume] (pick up where you left off) and [Start fresh] (clear and begin again). Drafts expire after 7 days.

Advanced settings (on Review)

On the Review card, an Advanced settings accordion sits below Generate. It's collapsed by default; expand it for AI model choice, web search toggle, generation mode (Lightning / Pour Over / Slow Brew), language, and custom instructions. Model selection is Creator-only — Free and Pro see a locked CoffeeScribe Model badge (the curated default we maintain). The other Advanced settings are available to all tiers.

If you tweak Advanced settings most times you create a scribe, you can flip the default. Go to Settings → Preferences and enable "Show advanced controls" — the accordion will now expand automatically every time you reach the Review card. Turn it off and the accordion goes back to being collapsed by default. The preference is saved to your account and persists across browsers and devices.

Be Specific with Your Topic

Instead of broad topics, try focused ones:

Use the Description Field

Add context in the Scribe Description field to shape the output:

• "Write for a high school audience"
• "Focus on practical examples"
• "Include comparisons between different approaches"
• "Keep the tone conversational and engaging"

Age Range Supports Multiple Selections

The Age Range field is a multi-select — you can click more than one tile to target multiple age groups at once.

Once your scribe is generated, you can:

• Read it in the built-in reader with highlights and notes
• Export it as PDF (3 lifetime on Free; unlimited on Pro/Creator), Word, EPUB, or StoryBook
• Share it by making it public in the library
• Edit it in the Workspace (all tiers)
• Create an Espresso (Quick Read) — a condensed summary version
