Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026 • Version 2.3

1. Service Description

These Terms govern your use of Coffeescribe (the "Service"), an AI-powered book creation platform operated by 7sumcreations LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company with registered address at 1309 Coffeen Ave, Suite 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA ("Company", "we", "us", "our"). "Coffeescribe" is a trade name (DBA) of 7sumcreations LLC. The Service allows users to generate, edit, and export written content using artificial intelligence technology.

Important: Content generated by Coffeescribe is created using artificial intelligence models. While we strive for quality and accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Users are responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before use or publication. For full details, see our AI Content Policy.

2. Age Requirements

To use Coffeescribe, you must meet the following age requirements:

  • United States: You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
  • European Union: You must be at least 16 years old to use this service.
  • Other regions: You must meet the minimum age requirement for digital services in your jurisdiction, or be at least 13 years old, whichever is higher.

By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these age requirements.

3. Content Ownership

Your Content: You retain ownership of the content you create using Coffeescribe. This includes your book ideas, prompts, and any original text you input or edit within the platform.

AI-Generated Content: Content generated by AI models is provided to you under a license that allows you to use, modify, publish, and distribute it. However, you should be aware that:

  • AI models are trained on existing content, which may influence outputs
  • Similar content may be generated for other users using similar prompts
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of generated content complies with applicable laws

Public Books:When you make a book public, you grant Coffeescribe a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote that content within the platform's public library. You may remove a book from public access at any time. If you delete your account, public books will be re-attributed to "Deleted User" and remain in the library.

3.5 Imported Scribes

You may import documents you own or have the right to use. Coffeescribe lets you upload PDF, EPUB, Word, plain-text, and Markdown documents and convert them into native scribes — verbatim ("Word-for-Word"), as a whole-book AI rewrite, or as a condensed Mini-Scribe. By uploading a file, you warrant that you own the work or hold all rights necessary to upload, store, convert, and (if you choose) publish it on Coffeescribe.

Default privacy. Every imported scribe starts as a private scribe in your library. Imported scribes are not visible to other users, and we do notinclude them in the public library, unless and until you explicitly publish them via the "Publish to library" flow. Publishing requires a separate confirmation in which you re-affirm that you hold the rights to share the work publicly. We record the timestamp of that confirmation as an audit trail.

Prohibited uploads. You may not upload:

  • Copyrighted works owned by someone else that you do not have permission to use
  • DRM-protected content (we detect and reject DRM-protected EPUBs)
  • Material that violates the Prohibited Content section of these Terms
  • Personal data about third parties without their consent

If you did not write it, and AI did not generate it, then you uploaded it. It could be plagiarism. Even if AI then rewrote it, it could still be plagiarism. We have the full right to remove that content from public view — and we have a responsibility to do so. Please only publish content that does not break any laws, that is not plagiarism, and that is powerful and worth reading.

AI rewriting does not launder copyright. When you choose AI Rewrite or Mini-Scribe, the resulting scribe is a derivative work generated by AI from your source. A derivative of a copyrighted source is still derivative of that source — you remain responsible for the upstream rights. The Word-for-Word mode is obviously derivative; AI Rewrite and Mini-Scribe are too. The AI Content Disclaimer in section 4 also applies in full — the derivative output may contain errors, biases, or unexpected deviations, and you remain responsible for reviewing it before sharing or publishing.

Take-downs — our right and our responsibility. Where we become aware of likely infringement — through a rights-holder report via the existing Report Content flow, a DMCA notice, or our own review — we will remove the imported scribe from public view promptly and notify you. We do notwait for a court order; we exercise our removal right and our removal responsibility as soon as the evidence of infringement is reasonable. You can appeal the removal under the Content Removal & Appeals process in section 13. Repeat infringement may result in account suspension or termination per section 12. The source file you uploaded is stored privately in our system while the import is in progress and is deleted after the conversion completes (or after 7 days for abandoned uploads).

Publish consent. When you click Publish to libraryon an imported scribe, we record a timestamp confirming you re-affirmed at that moment that you hold the rights to share the work publicly. That timestamp is retained as an audit trail for take-down requests.

4. AI Content Disclaimer

AI is unpredictable. We provide a best-effort service with no guarantee of any specific result.

Best-effort, no guarantee on AI output. Coffeescribe orchestrates third-party AI language models. AI is non-deterministic; results vary by model, prompt, and topic, and the same input may produce different outputs at different times. We work hard to make generation succeed, but we cannot guarantee any specific result, accuracy, completeness, originality, or fitness for any particular purpose. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" with respect to AI output.

Early-launch trial period. Coffeescribe is currently operating in an early-launch trial. As a solo-developer-built product, you receive a privacy-first product and direct contact with the developer, but may experience reduced response times compared to large enterprise SaaS providers. Use at your own risk. Please report issues via the in-app feedback button so we can resolve them quickly.

In addition to the points above, please understand that:

  • AI-generated content should not be relied upon as professional, medical, legal, financial, or any other form of expert advice
  • You should always verify important information from authoritative sources
  • AI may "hallucinate" facts, citations, or references that do not exist
  • AI may occasionally reproduce phrasings from its training data; you are responsible for verifying originality before publishing or selling content generated through this Service
  • Content may reflect biases present in training data
  • You are responsible for fact-checking and editing all generated content

For more details, see our AI Content Policy.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

Coffeescribe offers three subscription tiers:

Free

$0/mo • $0/yr

500K signup tokens, CoffeeScribe Model only, public books

Pro

$7.99/mo • $79.99/yr

Generous monthly allowance, CoffeeScribe Model, private books, edit mode

Creator

$14.99/mo • $149.99/yr

Larger monthly allowance, full AI model picker (350+), token top-ups

Payment Processing: All payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, tax collection, and payment processing on our behalf.

Token Credits:Paid tiers include monthly token credits for AI generation. Unused credits roll over to the next billing cycle, capped at twice your monthly allowance (carry-over cap). Credits above the carry-over cap at renewal are not added — we never reduce your existing balance. Creator top-up credits (purchased separately) sit outside the carry-over cap and never expire. If you cancel or downgrade, your existing balance is preserved — only the going-forward rules change. If you run out before renewal, paid tiers receive a one-time per-cycle goodwill grant of additional tokens to finish in-progress work; after the grant is spent, generation pauses until renewal (Pro) or the user purchases a top-up (Creator).

No Refunds: Subscriptions are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free tier.

No Refunds on Spent Tokens: Tokens spent on AI generations that completed are non-refundable, because we have already paid the upstream AI provider for the compute cost. This applies regardless of whether the output met your expectations — AI is unpredictable, and a generation that produced unsatisfying or imperfect content has still consumed real upstream cost. To protect you, we do not charge tokens for generations our system detects as failed (for example, generations that error out from the provider, return empty content, or are truncated mid-sentence). If you believe a token charge was made in error, contact billing@coffeescribe.ai — we review billing disputes case-by-case using our generation audit trail (token transactions are retained indefinitely for this purpose).

Non-Recommended Models (Creator tier): Creator-tier users may select from over 350 third-party AI models. Many of these are research, vision, embedding, or specialised models that are not optimised for long-form structured book generation. Tokens spent on user-selected non-recommended models are non-refundable, even if the model produces poor or no output. If you are unsure which model to use, stick with the Recommended models we have curated for book creation.

Tier Changes:Coffeescribe reserves the right to modify the features, pricing, or credit allocations for any subscription tier. We will provide at least one month's notice before any changes take effect. You may cancel your subscription if you do not agree with the changes.

For billing inquiries, contact billing@coffeescribe.ai.

6. Free Tier Limitations

The Free tier is subject to the following limitations:

  • One-time signup token credit: Free users receive a one-time signup token credit and are not granted monthly credits. Scribe creation is unlimited subject to that balance; when it runs out, users are prompted to upgrade.
  • AI model: Locked to the CoffeeScribe Model — our curated default. The model picker is a Creator-tier feature.
  • Public only: All scribes created on the Free tier are public
  • Export limits: 3 lifetime PDF exports. Word, EPUB, StoryBook, HTML, and Markdown exports remain unlimited.
  • No audiobook generation: Audiobook generation requires a paid tier.
  • Workspace access: The Workspace and all editing features are available on the Free tier; tier-gated AI features (e.g. Verify Validity, AI Chat in Notebooks, AI-powered dictionary) require a paid plan.
  • Data usage: Your prompts and generated content may be used by the underlying AI model provider for training purposes — see our AI Content Policy for details.

Upgrade to a paid plan at any time to remove these limitations.

7. Free Tier Data Usage

Free tier users: Your prompts may be used for AI model training.

Coffeescribe offers a free tier that uses AI models provided at no cost by third-party providers (via OpenRouter). By using the free tier, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your prompts and generated content may be used by AI model providers for training purposes
  • Your prompts and completions may be published to public datasets (anonymously)
  • Free model providers may retain and log your inputs and outputs
  • This data sharing is required to access free AI models and cannot be opted out of while using the free tier

Want more privacy? Paid tiers use premium AI models that do not share your data for training purposes. Upgrade to a paid plan if data privacy is important for your use case.

What we don't share: Your account information, email, and personal details are never shared with AI model providers. Only the content of your book creation prompts and the AI-generated responses may be used as described above.

8. Prohibited Content

Coffeescribe is committed to freedom of expression. We will not remove or restrict content based on viewpoint, opinion, controversy, or because we personally disagree with it. Our moderation is grounded entirely in law — not editorial judgement.

You may not use Coffeescribe to create, publish, or distribute content that is illegal under applicable law, including but not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — illegal in all jurisdictions
  • Content that incites violence or terrorism as defined under applicable criminal law
  • Defamatory or fraudulent content as defined under applicable civil or criminal law
  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark) under applicable law
  • Doxxing — publishing private personal information about others without consent, where prohibited by law
  • Content constituting harassment, stalking, or threats as defined under applicable law
  • Malware, phishing, or content designed to defraud users
  • Content that is otherwise unlawful in the jurisdiction where it is accessed

We reserve the right to remove content and take action on accounts where there is a clear legal violation. We will not act on the basis of subjective offence or political opinion.

9. Content Reporting and Moderation

If you encounter content that you believe violates applicable law, you can report it using the "Report Content" button on any public book. The button opens a modal with a pre-filled email template containing the Book ID, title, and URL — copy the template (or click "Open Email Client") and send it to support@coffeescribe.ai with subject "REPORT CONTENT" (in all caps), adding the reason for the report. All reports are reviewed by our team against the legal standards set out in Section 8 — not against subjective standards of taste or offence.

Where a legal violation is found, we may:

  • Remove or hide the content from public view
  • Suspend or permanently terminate the account responsible
  • Refer the matter to relevant law enforcement where required by law

We will not act on reports that amount to disagreement with someone's viewpoint, opinion, or creative expression — even if the reported content is controversial, offensive to some, or unpopular. Freedom of expression is a core value of this platform.

Viewers rely on shared content at their own risk. If you encounter inappropriate content in a shared Cafe, please report it using the standard content reporting system.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Coffeescribe is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service
  • We are not liable for content you create, publish, or distribute
  • We are not liable for any actions taken based on AI-generated content

You agree to indemnify 7sumcreations LLC, its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or content you create.

11. User Responsibilities

As a user of Coffeescribe, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All content created under your account
  • Reviewing and editing AI-generated content before publication
  • Ensuring your content does not infringe on others' rights
  • Verifying the accuracy of any factual claims in your content
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations

12. Account Suspension, Termination & Deletion

12.1 Suspension

Coffeescribe reserves the right to suspend (disable) any account where there is a clear violation of applicable law or these Terms — including accounts associated with unlawful content, fraudulent activity, repeated verified legal violations, or activity that constitutes a criminal offence in the applicable jurisdiction. Suspension on the basis of subjective opinion, political viewpoint, or controversial expression is not permitted. A suspended account loses access to platform features, and any public books associated with the account will be hidden from the public library while the account is suspended.

If your account is suspended, you will be notified via an in-app notice. Suspensions are reversible — you may appeal within 30 days by contacting support@coffeescribe.ai.

12.2 Termination (Admin-Initiated)

In cases of serious or repeated violations — including publishing content that is unlawful in the jurisdiction where it is accessed — Coffeescribe may permanently terminate an account. Upon admin-initiated termination:

  • Public books will be anonymised ("Deleted User") and remain on the platform
  • Private books and personal account data will be permanently deleted
  • You will be notified via in-app notice and given 30 days to appeal by emailing support@coffeescribe.ai with your account details

12.3 User-Initiated Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion:

  • Public books will be anonymised ("Deleted User") and remain accessible in the library
  • Private books will be permanently deleted
  • Your personal account data (email, profile, settings) will be permanently deleted
  • This action cannot be undone

13. Content Removal & Appeals

Freedom of expression is a core principle of Coffeescribe. We believe people have the right to write, publish, and share ideas — including ideas that are controversial, provocative, or unpopular. We will never remove content simply because we, or anyone else, disagrees with it, finds it offensive, or considers it in poor taste.

Content will only be removed where it is clearly unlawful under applicable law in the jurisdiction where it is accessed. We comply with valid legal obligations and court orders. We do not comply with informal pressure, complaints based on disagreement, or requests that have no legal basis.

Book hidden: Content may be temporarily hidden from public view while under legal review. The book remains accessible to its author during this period. You will be notified via an in-app notice.

Book removed: Content confirmed to constitute a legal violation will be permanently archived and removed from public view. You will be notified and have 30 days to appeal by emailing support@coffeescribe.ai with your book ID and the legal grounds for your appeal. We will review against the applicable legal standard — not against subjective opinion.

Subscription Cancellation on Account Deletion: If you delete your account while an active paid subscription is in effect, your subscription will be cancelled immediately upon account deletion. You will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your current billing period. By proceeding with account deletion, you acknowledge and accept forfeiture of any remaining subscription time.

14. Dispute Resolution

We want to resolve any issues fairly and efficiently. Please read this section carefully — it sets out the process for resolving disputes between you and Coffeescribe.

14.1 Contact Us First

Before pursuing any formal dispute process, you must first contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Email support@coffeescribe.ai with a clear description of your complaint. We will acknowledge your contact within 5 business days and aim to resolve the matter within 30 days.

14.2 Billing Disputes

All subscription payments and one-time purchases are processed by Paddle.com (our Merchant of Record). If you have a billing dispute — including unauthorised charges, incorrect amounts, or refund requests — you should:

  • First contact us at billing@coffeescribe.ai so we can resolve it directly
  • If unresolved, contact Paddle directly at paddle.com — as Merchant of Record, Paddle handles all payment disputes and chargebacks
  • You also retain the right to dispute charges with your card issuer or bank

14.3 Content & Account Disputes

If you dispute a content removal or account suspension decision, follow the appeals process set out in Sections 12 and 13. All appeals are reviewed against the legal standard described in Section 8 — not against subjective editorial judgement. If you believe we have acted unlawfully, you may refer the matter to the relevant regulatory authority in your jurisdiction.

14.4 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

14.5 Mediation Before Litigation

If informal resolution fails, both parties agree to attempt mediation before initiating legal proceedings. Either party may request mediation by written notice. The costs of mediation will be shared equally unless otherwise agreed. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a court where necessary.

EU/UK consumers: If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may also refer disputes to your national Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For significant changes, we may notify you via email or a notice on the platform.
