How to change your subscription plan

Changing Your Plan

You can change your subscription tier at any time from your Settings page.

Upgrading

Free to Pro or Creator

  1. Go to Settings or the Pricing page
  2. Click Upgrade on your desired plan
  3. Complete payment through Paddle (our payment processor)
  4. Your new features are available immediately
  5. Token credits are added to your account right away

Pro to Creator

  1. Go to Settings or Pricing
  2. Click Upgrade to Creator
  3. The price difference is prorated — you only pay the difference for the remainder of your billing cycle
  4. Creator features (model picker, token top-ups, doubled monthly bucket, larger carry-over cap) are available immediately
  5. Your existing token balance is preserved — only the rules going forward change

Downgrading

Creator to Pro

  • Your plan changes at the end of your current billing period
  • You keep Creator features (model picker, top-ups, larger bucket) until the period ends
  • After the change, the model picker is removed — you'll generate with the locked CoffeeScribe Model
  • Private scribes remain private after downgrading
  • Your existing token balance is preserved (top-up tokens included). Only the rules going forward change — your monthly grant drops to Pro's generous monthly allowance and your carry-over caps at one extra month

Pro or Creator to Free

  • Your plan changes at the end of your current billing period
  • You keep paid features until the period ends
  • After the change:
    • All existing scribes remain accessible
    • Your existing token balance is preserved (you don't lose what you have), but Free has no monthly credit refresh — when those tokens run out you'll need to upgrade to keep generating
    • Private scribes remain private but you cannot create new private scribes
    • Generation continues to use the locked CoffeeScribe Model (same as Pro and the bottom of the Creator picker — so quality stays consistent for the tokens you already had)

Pausing Your Subscription

If you need a break but don't want to cancel:

  1. Go to your Settings page
  2. Click Pause Subscription
  3. Your subscription pauses at the end of the current billing period
  4. You can undo the pause before it takes effect
  5. Resume anytime to reactivate your plan

Cancelling

  1. Go to your Settings page
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. You can optionally provide feedback on why you're leaving
  4. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
  5. After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free tier
  6. You can undo the cancellation before it takes effect

Refunds

Subscriptions are non-refundable. When you cancel, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
