How to buy token packs today, and what's coming with subscriptions

Coffeescribe is pay-as-you-go

There's no subscription to manage right now — Coffeescribe runs on one-time token packs. Instead of upgrading or downgrading a plan, you simply buy tokens when you need them, and they never expire.

Monthly subscription plans (with a recurring allowance and the upgrade/downgrade flow that comes with them) are coming soon. This page will grow back into a full plan-management guide when they arrive.

Buying a token pack

  1. Go to the Pricing page or your Settings
  2. Pick a pack — $10 → 10M tokens, $20 → 20M tokens, or $50 → 50M tokens
  3. You're taken to our secure checkout, handled by Polar (our Merchant of Record)
  4. Complete payment — the tokens are credited to your balance, usually within seconds
  5. Tokens never expire, and you can buy as many packs as you like

Token packs are available to any signed-in user — there's no tier requirement.

Prefer to use your own AI account?

You can bring your own API key (BYOK) instead of buying tokens. In Settings → API Keys, paste your own provider key (OpenRouter, OpenAI, and more); generation for that provider then runs on your account rather than spending Coffeescribe tokens. See BYOK API Keys.

Receipts & managing your payment method

After your first purchase, a "Manage billing & receipts" link appears in your Settings. It opens the Polar customer portal, where you can view invoices and update your payment method. Polar also emails you a receipt for every purchase.

Refunds

Refunds are handled through Polar, our Merchant of Record. Tokens already spent on completed generations are non-refundable. See the Refund Policy and the Billing FAQ for details.

What happens to my existing Pro or Creator tier?

Nothing changes for you. Free, Pro, and Creator still exist internally as account labels, but every feature is open to every signed-in user regardless of which one your account has — there's no feature-level difference between them anymore. There's no way to purchase or switch subscription tiers at the moment — paid usage is entirely through token packs (or BYOK). When subscriptions return, this page will cover upgrading, downgrading, and cancelling.
